Make an Impact Assist the pressman in a way that will permit the production of high-quality product to satisfy customers and meet department and company goals. This position is trained on SQF principles and is required to follow them and report through the chain of command and the non-conformance program, any issues of food safety that they may encounter or observe. While this posting is for an apprentice role, we are actively hiring across multiple levels. Candidates with higher-level experience may be considered for advanced positions based on qualifications. What You'll Do Lubricates presses, checks and replaces gear box lubricants in accordance with current instructions Keeps press supplied with paper, inks, etc. Inspects work on running press to ensure quality and makes necessary adjustments to maintain standards Performs minor repairs and lubricates press Transports printed rolls from presses to printed roll storage area Coordinates supply of rolls on unwind end of presses Prepares rolls for return to warehouse Cuts up all make-ready rolls and conducts press wash-ups Assists with weekly clean-ups and cleans presses during downtime Relieves pressman for breaks Responsible for sanitation and housekeeping of Offset Department Maintains register Records accurate information on daily production reports Assists in operation of Coater and Laminator Assumes accountability for quality of all work produced Follows principles of SMED within the department Operations / Compliance Carries out all company safe operating, sanitation and housekeeping policies Strives to raise quality level of work, facilitate production, and minimize waste Maintains press, press areas, and accessory equipment in clean and good working order Solves routine mechanical press problems and makes adjustments as required Tools & Systems N/A What You Bring Ability to comprehend and follow oral, written and/or visual instructions Ability to analyze and exercise judgment in solving operational problems Must meet operating standards outlined for the position Why Join Us Competitive pay: $22.54-$23.10/hour
