Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer / BOM Specialist to support production operations and engineering initiatives. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), optimizing manufacturing processes, and supporting CNC punch press programming for sheet metal fabrication. The ideal candidate will bridge engineering and production to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Create, maintain, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and existing products
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for lighting and sheet metal assemblies
  • Program and optimize CNC punch press machines to support production requirements
  • Create and modify CAD drawings to support product design, manufacturing, and engineering changes
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to ensure accurate documentation and material flow
  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency
  • Support production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality
  • Assist with work instructions, routings, and engineering change orders (ECOs)
Job Requirements Requirements:
  • Bachelor"s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Merry Mechanization software knowledge a plus
  • will train
  • Hands-on experience with CNC punch press machine preferred (programming adjustments)
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes
  • Experience creating and managing BOMs within an ERP/MRP system
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Experience in lighting, electrical, or metal fabrication manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
