Description:

The Drawer Builder (Dovetail) is responsible for the production of high-quality dovetail drawers, learning the entire process from material preparation to assembly and finishing. This role involves working with a team, ensuring precision in dovetail joints, and maintaining production schedules to meet project timelines. Key Responsibilities Production of dovetail drawers, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship and precision. Preparation, cutting, assembly, and finishing of dovetail joints. Operate and maintain woodworking machinery, including dovetail jigs, saws, and sanders. Train the drawer-building apprentices, providing guidance and ensuring quality control. Ensure accurate measurements, cuts, and alignment for flawless assembly. Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of finished drawers. Manage material inventory, ensuring sufficient stock and maintaining a well-organized workspace. Follow and enforce all safety protocols and ensure team compliance with safety regulations. Perform quality checks on finished products and troubleshoot any production issues.

Requirements:

Extensive experience in woodworking, specifically dovetail joinery, with a strong attention to detail. Must be good with people and able to work with the team effectively. Proficient in using woodworking tools and machinery, including dovetail jigs and saws. Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to maintain production efficiency. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
