Pre-Fab Operator Specialty Fabrication LLC | Lakeland, FL 33811 POSITION SUMMARY The Pre-Fab Operator oversees and contributes to the hourly output of quality parts and services in assigned areas, in accordance with the production plan and customer expectations. This role supports a culture of continuous improvement by implementing improvement ideas, developing team members, and helping maintain a safe, respectful, and productive work environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate shop equipment, including Messer oxy/plasma tables, Flow waterjet, Mazak laser tables, Piranha ironworker, Accurpress brake press, Hydmech band saw, and related machinery. Operate machinery control units to fulfill production orders accurately and efficiently. Load and unload steel plate of various sizes. Read BOMs (Bills of Materials) and shop documentation to ensure accurate fulfillment. Maintain a strong work ethic, self-motivation, productivity, punctuality, and reliable attendance. Fill in where needed to keep daily production on track. Ensure the output of high-quality parts and services while maintaining company standards. Understand and promote the company mission and values while following all safety policies and procedures. Maintain and improve best practices within the pre-fabrication area. Coordinate with and assist other departments as needed. Complete daily inspection forms for all pre-fab equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a pre-fabrication or production role; warehousing or picking experience alone does not meet this requirement. At least two (2) years of experience setting up, operating, and maintaining pre-fab equipment, including laser, waterjet, plasma/oxy tables, and brake press equipment. Experience with nesting software, preferably ProNest. Experience reading shop drawings. Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes. Adequate computer skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, work efficiently with minimal supervision, and maintain strong attention to detail. Ability to work a flexible schedule when required, including scheduled or unscheduled overtime, weekends, nights, or holidays. This role is performed in a production shop environment and may include exposure to moving mechanical equipment, fumes, heat, cold, irritants, and high noise levels from production equipment. Proper work attire is required. Loose-fitting jewelry may not be worn for safety reasons. Sit, walk, and stand for eight or more hours. Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. JOB DETAILS
