Job Title:
Production Associate 1st & 2nd Shift 1st shift : 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM 2nd shift 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM M-F Job Description The Production Associate plays a hands-on role in creating and packaging meat products in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment. This position focuses on consistent product quality, safe and efficient equipment operation, and adherence to strict food safety and sanitation standards. Responsibilities Handle and process high-quality meats and sausages to maintain a consistent and reliable finished product. Place sausage links into Multivac packers and operate packaging machinery safely and efficiently. Set up, operate, and monitor industrial equipment such as cutters, metal detectors, and related production machinery. Move product from sticks into sausage cutters and ensure proper flow through the production line. Navigate full and empty trolleys through the production area and move materials as needed to support continuous production. Visually inspect meat products for quality, identify items that are out of specification, and place them into designated rework bins. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times to maintain product safety and quality. Maintain a clean and organized work area, promptly removing debris such as meat and blood to meet sanitation standards. Accurately follow recipes, weigh ingredients, and ensure all products are labeled correctly. Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to coordinate tasks and meet daily production goals. Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while working with machinery and in a cold storage environment. Support general production, inspection, assembly, packing, and general labor tasks as needed. Essential Skills Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for the duration of the shift. Capability to frequently lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Comfort working in a cold storage environment, typically between 30 and 45 degrees. Strong attention to detail when following recipes, weighing ingredients, and applying labels. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and supervisors. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or willingness to learn and follow them closely. Experience operating or supporting industrial production, packaging, or inspection equipment, or willingness to be trained. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED is preferred but not always required. Previous experience in food production, meat processing, or a warehouse environment is preferred; on-the-job training is often provided. Food Handler Certificate is frequently required or strongly preferred. Experience with meat cutting, packing, and general production or general labor work is beneficial. Ability to work the afternoon/evening shift, typically 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Why Work Here? The environment includes industrial production and packaging equipment such as cutters, Multivac packers, and metal detectors, and requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and strict sanitation standards. The standard schedule is generally an afternoon/evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with appropriate protective clothing and gear provided to work comfortably in the cold environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
