Job Description

About the Role We are seeking a driven, customer-focused Production Assistant to support our Production Manager in the asphalt and concrete industry. This role is fast-moving and highly communication-driven — you'll be the key connection between our office, field crews, and customers, keeping everyone informed and projects moving forward efficiently. If you take initiative, love staying organized, and aren't afraid to pick up the phone or send a firm email to get things done, this role is for you. Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact for customers throughout each project — from scheduling through completion — providing proactive daily email updates on job progress. Phase and schedule jobs in coordination with the Production Manager, then communicate confirmed schedules directly to customers via email. Assist the Production Manager with daily scheduling, coordination, and planning for multiple asphalt and concrete crews across various job sites. Take ownership of tasks and follow through quickly — this role requires someone who moves fast, asks what they need, and gets things done without being prompted. Work closely with crew members and supervisors to ensure production runs smoothly and deadlines are met. Send project completion photos and ensure all documentation and follow-up materials are accurate and timely. Order and track materials to support production timelines and minimize delays. Participate in job costing by tracking labor, material, and equipment usage. Support post-job reviews and continuous improvement efforts. Qualifications Outstanding customer service skills — this is non-negotiable. You will be the face of the company to our customers daily. Confident and assertive communicator; comfortable asking questions, making requests, and following up without hesitation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and crews simultaneously. Thrives in a fast-paced environment and handles interruptions without losing focus. Proactive problem-solver who takes initiative and doesn't wait to be told what to do. Willingness to learn and grow — responsibilities will evolve as the role develops. Experience in the asphalt, concrete, or construction industry is a plus, but not required. Why Join Us Be part of a reputable, growing company with multiple crews working daily across a variety of projects. Hands-on training and opportunities for advancement. Competitive pay and benefits package. A supportive, team-oriented work environment where your reliability and attention to detail make a real impact.
