Mass Production of Compressors Shift:
2nd Shift | Monday-Friday | 3:00 PM - 1:00

Contract-to-Hire | Tallahassee, FL Position Summary The Lead Production Technician supports compressor assembly operations while serving as a point of contact for a small team on 2nd shift. This role is hands-on and production-focused, balancing mechanical assembly work with basic team leadership, quality oversight, and daily production support. The Lead assists with training, troubleshooting, and workflow coordination to ensure safety, quality, and production targets are met. Key Responsibilities Lead and support daily assembly operations for compressor production on 2nd shift Perform hands-on mechanical assembly of compressor components and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools Serve as a go-to resource for assemblers by answering process questions and assisting with problem-solving Ensure team members follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, safety rules, and PPE requirements Support training and onboarding of new assemblers and reinforce proper assembly methods Monitor quality during production by performing visual inspections and addressing assembly issues as they arise Communicate production concerns, material shortages, and quality issues to supervisors and quality personnel Coordinate workflow to help meet daily production goals and minimize downtime Stage, move, and verify components and finished assemblies are routed correctly Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred 2+ years of experience in assembly or manufacturing, preferably in HVAC or mechanical assembly Prior lead, trainer, or informal leadership experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of mechanical assembly, part fitment, and fasteners Ability to read work instructions, diagrams, and production documentation Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift Basic computer skills for production tracking, data entry, or inventory systems Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset Work Environment Fast-paced compressor manufacturing environment Regular exposure to industrial equipment, forklifts, and pallet jacks Standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks throughout the shift Required use of PPE and adherence to safety standards at all times Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tallahassee, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
