Job Description

INDUCTION PAINT OPERATOR
Adairsville, GA PAY:
$22/hourly
SHIFT:
3rd (10:00p-6:20a) The Induction Painter Operator is responsible for applying specialized dry powder coating to steel uprights in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role includes surface preparation, operating electrostatic paint systems, curing coated products, and ensuring finished items meet quality and customer specifications. Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and adherence to safety standards are essential.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and monitor pre-treatment systems, including degreasing, rinsing, and phosphating tanks Ensure proper chemical balance and cleanliness prior to the powder coating process Operate electrostatic paint booths to apply powder coating evenly on parts moving along a conveyor line Ensure uniform coverage and adherence to required specifications Set and adjust booth parameters, including air pressure, spray guns, and oven temperatures Operate conveyors for product transport through coating and curing stages Inspect parts before and after coating for defects Verify powder thickness using tools such as an Elcometer Monitor curing temperatures using infrared cameras Ensure final products meet required thickness, adhesion, and color specifications Clean and maintain paint booths, hoppers, spray guns, and surrounding work areas Use ATEX vacuum systems, blow guns, and cleaning equipment to manage powder residue Perform basic troubleshooting and support preventive maintenance activities Execute efficient powder and color changeovers while minimizing downtime and contamination Maintain correct powder thickness and color per customer requirements Monitor and control pre-treatment and induction parameters Conduct bath controls, including pH testing and titration Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE, including safety glasses, overalls, masks/respirators, safety shoes, earplugs, and caps
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in industrial painting or powder coating preferred Familiarity with spray equipment, coating systems, and safety protocols Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical instructions Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
