An entry-level production role focused on material handling and maintaining the work environment. Key duties include loading and feeding materials into the machine or stacking/unitizing finished product; assisting with general labor and cleanup tasks; and complying with all safety and housekeeping rules in the work area.
This role is a foundation for advancing up the machine crew progression.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
can include but are not limited to:
Stages, prepares, lifts, and loads materials and other components required for the production process; may also utilize a computerized, mechanical, or automatic process to lift and/or load materials.
Monitors and adjusts gauges, valves, switches, pumps, and other components according to production requirements; follows appropriate sampling and quality control techniques.
Lifts and prepares items required for the filling, labeling, packaging, and transporting of products.
Operates a variety of computerized, manual, and mechanical equipment to process, unload, label, pack, and store work-in-progress and finished goods.
Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear.
Completes appropriate paperwork and/or enters data regarding materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, and other operations to ensure records and actions are accurate.
Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks.
Communicates with maintenance, quality control, warehousing, and other departments to maintain a safe and effective environment and to ensure quality products.
Performs other duties as assignedEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED.Experience within a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.LANGUAGE
SKILLSAble to read and follow instructions on factory masters.MATHEMATICAL
SKILLSAble to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.REASONING

DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
