Job Description

Are you ready to power your career with an industry leader? At Advanced Digital Cable, we don't just keep up with the competition—we set the pace. As a premier manufacturer of wire and cable, we provide the literal "nervous system" for modern infrastructure, and we do it better than anyone else. We utilize the most advanced manufacturing technology and equipment available, ensuring you work in a high-tech, high-quality setting. We manufacture 100% of our products across four state-of-the-art U.S. locations. We are constantly expanding our capacity and developing new products, which means more opportunities for our team to grow and advance.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Extruder Assistant to join our manufacturing team. If you enjoy working with your hands, operating high-tech machinery, and ensuring products are built to perfect specifications, this is the role for you. Extruder is the process of shaping material by forcing it through a machine to create a continuous shape—in our case, the protective "jacket" or coating that goes around wires and cables. As an Extruder Assistant, you will support the Lead Operator in running a high-speed production line that transforms raw materials into finished industrial cables.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Machine Coordination:
You'll manage "Take-Up" machines—large motorized reels that neatly wind the finished cable as it comes off the line—ensuring the tension is perfect and the product is ready for shipping.
Precision Testing:
Using specialized tools like calipers (digital measuring devices), you will verify that the cable walls are the exact thickness required for safety and performance.
Digital Branding:
You will program inkjet systems to print vital safety codes and branding directly onto the cable jacket.
Quality Verification:
Ensure that every foot of cable created is built to exact specifications, labeled correctly, and packaged securely.
Required Qualifications:
Operational Excellence:
Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict productivity standards. You should be comfortable adapting to changing production needs while keeping a clean, organized workspace.
Reliability:
A track record of consistent attendance and punctuality. We value team members who take full ownership of their actions and follow all safety and operational procedures.
Clear Communication:
Ability to follow complex directions, seek clarification when needed, and maintain legible, accurate production records (Labels & Travelers).
Coachability:
Responsive to management direction and willing to take full responsibility for personal actions and performance. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and varying temperatures.
Compensation & Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary based on experience along with a comprehensive benefits package, including: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) Life Insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Long- and Short-Term Disability Accident & Critical Illness Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) 11 Paid Holidays 401(k) with company match Career development and advancement opportunities
Qualifications & Skills:
Technical Excellence & Quality Control Proven ability to perform detailed quality inspections on wire and cable products, ensuring all output meets strict accuracy standards. Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and how individual production tasks impact the final product's integrity. A proactive mindset that constantly looks for ways to enhance efficiency and promote higher quality standards. Ability to maintain clear, legible, and accurate records on production labels and "traveler" documents. Operational Reliability Consistently meets or exceeds productivity standards while completing tasks in a timely manner. Comfortable multi-tasking and pivoting between different tasks as production needs or work environments change. Committed to maintaining a clean, organized, and professional workspace at all times. A track record of excellent attendance and punctuality. Communication & Collaboration Strong oral communication skills with the ability to listen effectively and seek clarification when instructions are complex. Responsive to management direction and willing to take full responsibility for personal actions and performance. Dedicated to a "safety first" culture, including the immediate reporting of any unsafe conditions or hazards. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and varying temperatures.
