Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker assembles and produces custom doors using a variety of tools and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves operating machinery, handling materials, performing quality checks, and following production instructions while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork. Responsibilities Assemble and produce custom doors according to production specifications and work instructions. Operate clamps, presses, sanders, nail guns, and other production equipment safely and efficiently. Use hand tools and power tools to complete assembly, finishing, and related production tasks. Read and interpret tape measurements and basic measurement markings to ensure accurate cuts and assembly. Utilize a computer to follow production orders, record information, or access job-related instructions as needed. Perform basic inspection of materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met. Handle, move, and position materials and products, consistently lifting up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Follow safety procedures at all times, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment such as steel-toe footwear. Assist with packaging and preparation of finished products for shipment or storage. Support general labor tasks around the production area, including cleaning work areas and maintaining an organized workspace. Operate machinery and equipment in accordance with training and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to meet production goals and deadlines. Work scheduled hours Monday through Friday and every other Saturday as required to support production needs. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a production and manufacturing facility focused on custom door fabrication. You will work on-site using equipment such as clamps, presses, sanders, nail guns, forklifts, and various hand and power tools, as well as computers for basic production tasks. The schedule runs Monday through Friday starting at 6:00 a.m., with required work every other Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The environment is active and hands-on, requiring frequent standing, lifting, and moving of materials up to 50 pounds. Steel-toe footwear is required as part of the dress code to support a safe and compliant workplace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northwood, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
