Job Description
Furst-McNess Company is looking to add a full-time Production Operator at our Storm Lake, IA location. 5-Day Workweek, 8-hours shifts ( with available overtime as needed ).
Starting Pay :
$20.00 per hour (compensation will be determined by shift schedule, relevant experience, and the interview process)Pay Type :

The Feed Production Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently manufacturing and packaging high‑quality feed and mineral products. This role operates production equipment, follows established procedures, maintains a clean and safe work environment, and supports daily plant operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail‑oriented, and committed to producing consistent, high‑quality products while contributing to efficient plant operations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
: Operate manufacturing, production, and packaging equipment Package product and stack bags or bulk product onto pallets Measure, prepare and add materials according to work instructions Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials and finished goods Assist with mixing or production processes as trained Load and unload bulk materials from trucks or other deliveries Perform routine equipment checks, report maintenance needs, and assist with basic repairs when trained Follow inventory procedures and repair damaged bags or pallets as needed Maintain a clean and safe work area; complete daily and weekly housekeeping tasks and documentation Complete production, quality, and safety documentation accurately and on time Follow all safety guidelines, wear required PPE, equipment lockout/tagout, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve issues Perform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
: High school diploma or equivalent required Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or related experience is preferred Experience operating industrial equipment, or willingness to learn and operate equipment safely Forklift certification preferred; willingness to obtain certification with company support Ability to read, write, and speak English and perform basic math calculations Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork Effective teamwork, communication, and reliability skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities Willingness to work in an indoor warehouse environment with temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather conditions Ability to lift up to 70 lbs., work at heights, and perform physical tasks in an industrial environmentNote:

Be able to succeed within and adhere to the culture of the Furst-McNess Company. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation. Education equivalent to high school diploma and six months of basic manufacturing experience. Ability to read, write, and understand English and perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to ascend ladders and various heights using stairs, elevated walkways and/or elevators. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or stoop up to 70 lbs. of material on a regular or continuous basis. Ability to maneuver heavy loads (up to 2,000 lbs. pallets) with a pallet jack; safely operate all equipment along with being a certified forklift operator. Ability to perform cleaning operations while exposed to dusty environment, and ability to wear/use all appropriate protective equipment. Ability to enter confined spaces. Ability to learn and comply with GMP and regulatory requirements imposed on manufacturing facilities by the FDA, OSHA and EPA in regard to manufacturing of food and drug products. Ability to work overtime as requested or required. Good communication skills, both oral and written, and is capable of utilizing these skills within all levels of the Company as well as externally. Ability to provide outstanding customer service to all associates and management staff, showing a sense of urgency relative to solving problems, performing assigned tasks, employee concerns, etc. Ability to effectively organize work schedules and manage multiple assignments by utilizing time management skills to ensure day-to-day assignments and special projects are completed within guidelines agreed upon. Ability to work as an effective team member within the premix department and company, as a whole. Willingness to pitch in and do work that may not be a specific part of the job description for the overall good of the department and company. Ability to be flexible and be willing to change along with recommending changes that can enhance our ability to serve both internal and external customers more effectively and in a professional manner. Respect other peoples' points of view and able to take constructive criticism.Expected hours:
