Job Title:
Production Operator - Day Shift Job Description The Production Operator runs a high-volume food production line safely and efficiently, overseeing the process from dough mixing through tortilla packaging. This role is responsible for the overall performance of the line and directly supports key operational metrics. Operators receive full training to manage the complete line and progress through tiered classifications (T1, T2, and T3) that reflect increasing responsibility and reward. Responsibilities Operate a production line safely and efficiently from dough mixing through tortilla packaging. Monitor and manage the overall performance of the assigned production line to meet quality, safety, and productivity targets. Work with manufacturing equipment, ensuring correct setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting as needed. Maintain a strong focus on product quality, following established processes and standards throughout the production cycle. Follow written and verbal directions accurately to complete tasks in a timely and methodical manner. Work both independently and as part of a team to support smooth and continuous line operations. Identify and analyze production problems, and assist in planning and implementing practical solutions. Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail while working at a fast and consistent pace. Contribute to a positive work environment through clear communication and respectful collaboration with coworkers. Adhere to all safety, food safety, and quality guidelines in a regulated food manufacturing environment. Essential Skills Strong work ethic, reliability, and organizational skills. Ability to identify and analyze problems and plan effective solutions. Experience working in food manufacturing or food production environments. Strong ability to work with manufacturing and production equipment. Good hand-eye coordination to safely and accurately perform production tasks. High attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and methodically. Ability to follow directions well and work independently within a team environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support a positive work environment. Focus on maintaining excellent quality in all aspects of production. Basic reading, writing, and math skills suitable for a production setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in general labor or production roles. Experience in machine operation within a manufacturing or food production facility. Comfort working in a structured, metrics-driven production environment. Willingness to participate in and pass a pre-employment drug test and job placement assessment, in accordance with company policy. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a world-class, SQF-certified food manufacturing facility specializing in heat-pressed, hand-stretched flour and corn tortillas. The plant operates high-volume production lines that produce approximately 5 million tortillas per day and employs a large full-time workforce. Team members work with industrial manufacturing and packaging equipment in a fast-paced, process-driven environment that follows strict food safety and quality standards. The setting supports structured production operations, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and consistent procedures typical of modern food manufacturing facilities. This is a day-shift position within a facility located in Caldwell, Idaho. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Caldwell, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
