Job Title:
Production Associate - C Shift Job Description The Production Associate on C Shift supports electronic manufacturing operations by performing routine production, assembly, testing, and inspection tasks to help meet customer deadlines. You will work in a light industrial environment with detailed instructions and close supervision while you develop your skills, learn company procedures, and grow into more advanced responsibilities. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, basic computer skills, and a positive attitude who want to build a long-term career in manufacturing. Responsibilities Support production manufacturing activities to help meet customer deadlines and throughput goals. Perform light assembly tasks such as inserting and connecting components, comparable to manually fitting one hose into another. Carry out testing, inspection, machine operation, and packaging tasks according to established procedures and work instructions. Use basic hand tools and follow blueprints or work diagrams to complete electronic assembly and mechanical tasks. Follow detailed instructions on all work assignments and seek approval for any deviations from established procedures. Meet defined productivity metrics, including individual throughput goals and daily or shift-based production targets. Monitor your own work to ensure it meets quality standards, customer specifications, and internal quality policy guidelines. Identify and minimize scrap or rework by performing tasks accurately and carefully the first time. Use basic computer applications, including internal production programs, Excel for documentation, and Outlook for communication and record keeping. Adapt to changes in work plans, priorities, and direction while maintaining productivity and quality. Participate in improvement initiatives, including activities such as 5S, to help improve the work environment, efficiency, and organization. Look for opportunities to improve work productivity, efficiency, and quality within your work area. Work cooperatively with team members and cross-functional teams as needed to support production goals. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced or stressful environment. Openly share information, knowledge, and experience with co-workers to support team success. Take on additional assignments and tasks as requested to support changing production needs. Stay current on required certifications and training for the role and apply new work requirements with minimal supervision. Consistently complete assignments on time without compromising quality standards. Use time effectively to manage workload and tasks throughout the shift. Keep supervisors informed of progress and promptly escalate issues, quality concerns, or obstacles when needed. Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements within the manufacturing environment. Essential Skills Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate internal programs, use basic Excel for documentation, and work with Outlook. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools and light mechanical assembly tasks. Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, work instructions, and basic blueprints or diagrams. Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing quality work and minimizing errors, scrap, and rework. Ability to adapt to changes in work plans, priorities, and direction while maintaining productivity. Capability to work both independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment. Good oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with supervisors and team members. Willingness to be flexible and help in different departments or on different tasks as needed. Motivation to progress, learn new skills, and build a long-term career in manufacturing. Ability to maintain a level temperament in a fast-paced or stressful environment. Consistent ability to meet individual throughput goals and complete tasks on time. High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred. One (1) or more years of related experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous electronic manufacturing experience, including through-hole or surface-mount soldering, is highly valued. Experience in electronic assembly, production, or general manufacturing environments is beneficial. Background in retail, food service, fast food, or other fast-paced roles can translate well into this position. Familiarity with blueprints, work diagrams, or simple technical drawings is an advantage. Experience using basic hand tools in a production or assembly setting. Demonstrated ability to support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S. Proactive approach to improving work productivity, efficiency, and quality. Comfort with learning and performing different tasks frequently as production needs change. Self-motivated mindset with the ability to stay focused and productive with close but not constant supervision. History of reliability, strong work ethic, and consistent attendance in previous roles. Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level. Work is light industrial and general assembly in nature, with typical lifting limited to approximately 10-15 pounds. You will perform tasks such as testing, inspection, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging. C Shift operates on a 12-hour schedule every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You may sit or stand during the shift, but you must be able to stand for significant portions of the day and frequently reach at waist level. Work involves using basic hand tools, computers, and standard production equipment while following established safety, quality, and regulatory procedures in a structured, process-driven setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
