We extrude plastic products, primarily films, but also sheet and profile. Our office promotes a family friendly atmosphere, broad diversity and welcoming environment to our team. Our company is currently searching for someone to join our materials and purchasing team as our Production Planner. This position will work within a team and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and will be based in our Chicago. IL office. We are seeking someone who is capable of performing a multitude of functions while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality and productivity. This role will require the selected candidate to be in office Monday through Friday 8am - 4:30pm.
Key Role and Responsibilities:
Raw Material Management:
Ensure timely creation of purchase orders, resolve inventory discrepancies, and maintain raw material availability
Scheduling & Forecasting:
Maintain weekly production schedules, adjusting quantities based on forecasts and inventory targets.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of raw materials; perform cycle counts on raw materials weekly and on spot basis as needed
Communication:
Coordinate and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders such as production supervisors, plant managers, sales team members and supplier's customer service representatives.
Initiatives:
Provide support for cost out projects and review internally for any optimization opportunities.
Skills:
High School Diploma Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams. Past experience in buying or scheduling, preferably for a manufacturer Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel ERP systems, preferably IQMS Math proficiency This list is non-exhaustive and may not include all responsibilities.
