Job Title:
General Production Worker - Electronic Assembly Job Description This role focuses on electronic assembly of switches used in military, government, agriculture, and healthcare applications. You will work with small components, hand tools, and PC boards at your own workstation, performing precise, detail-oriented assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform electronic assembly of switches and related components for use in military, government, agriculture, and healthcare products. Handle and assemble small parts, consistently demonstrating strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Use hand tools and power tools to build and assemble various component parts according to specifications and work instructions. Gather and organize all materials and components needed to complete assigned assembly tasks. Place and secure components onto printed circuit boards (PC boards) with precision and care. Follow detailed assembly instructions and quality standards, paying close attention to detail throughout the entire process. Work at an individual workstation, spending extended periods standing and sitting as required by the tasks. Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and handled. Meet daily production expectations by working efficiently while maintaining high quality standards. Collaborate with team members and supervisors as needed to resolve issues and support overall production goals. Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing guidelines while operating in a production environment. Be available and willing to work regular overtime, currently averaging 3-4 additional hours per day. Essential Skills Experience working with small parts and components, demonstrating strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in an assembly or manufacturing setting. Comfort and accuracy when placing components onto printed circuit boards (PC boards). Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed instructions and quality standards. Ability to stand on your feet and sit for extended periods while working at a dedicated workstation. Willingness and ability to work overtime, currently averaging 50-60 hours per week. Reliability and accountability to meet production expectations in a manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience as an electronic assembler or in electronic assembly is beneficial. Soldering experience is valuable; solder certification is a plus but not required. Experience with pick-and-place equipment is a plus and may positively influence compensation. Familiarity with manufacturing or production environments with multiple workstations in a row. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while still meeting quality and productivity goals. Why Work Here? The role is based on-site with two primary shifts: a first shift typically running from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (with openness to starting at 5:30 a.m. when needed) and a second shift from 3:45 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. Regular overtime is common, and most employees currently work 50-60 hours per week. You will use hand tools, power tools, and other standard assembly equipment at your own workstation, alternating between standing and sitting throughout the day. The facility conducts temperature checks and brief health screenings upon arrival and again toward the end of the shift to support a safe and healthy workplace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Grange, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
