Design Production Associate

What You'll Do As our Design Production Associate, you'll be an integral part of CBLD's design studio, working alongside Senior Designers and the production team on technical drafting, field documentation, and the preparation of client deliverables. This is an entry-level role for someone who is motivated to grow in the landscape design industry, is highly detail-oriented, and wants to build foundational skills in a collaborative, high-standards environment. Prepare technical drawings and production plans using AutoCAD, following CBLD's standard templates and drawing details Translate design concepts into accurate CAD drawings in close collaboration with Senior Designers and Designers III/IV Assist in the preparation of final design deliverables and client presentation materials Assist with site analysis and field documentation, including measurements, photographs, and site notes Research and help source plant material and design elements as directed Maintain organized project files, drawing sets, and digital design assets within CBLD's standards Coordinate with the Production Team Lead to meet project deadlines efficiently What You Bring Degree or coursework in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field preferred Proficiency in AutoCAD required; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Strong attention to detail and time management skills Willingness to learn plant identification, design principles, and construction documentation Collaborative attitude and a positive, growth-oriented approach Knowledge of Midwestern native and ornamental plants preferred Valid driver's license Work Conditions Full time position based at CBLD's Lake Forest, IL studio Open studio environment; respectful use of shared space and appropriate noise levels expected Outside site visits required in all seasons Standard business hours with occasional variation for project deadlines Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary range between $55,000 - $65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
