Printing Operator - Naperville, IL 2PM-10:30PM
MONDAY-FRIDAY
$20-$24/hr Job Description The Printing Operator sets up, operates, and monitors screen printing equipment in a clean, controlled manufacturing environment. This role focuses on producing high-quality printed products by following standard work instructions, interpreting basic technical drawings, and performing in‑process inspections. The position supports production goals through safe, efficient machine operation and close collaboration with the production and engineering teams. Responsibilities Set up and operate screen printing machines according to drawings, specifications, and standard work instructions. Prepare, inspect, and set up printing screens to meet production and quality requirements. Load materials into printing equipment and monitor machines throughout production runs to ensure stable operation. Perform in‑process visual inspections using magnification tools and conduct basic measurements using gauges and other inspection equipment. Identify, record, and report quality issues or abnormal process parameters to engineering or supervisory staff in a timely manner. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and orderliness of the printing area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards. Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and 5S practices at all times while operating equipment and handling materials. Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback, participating in problem-solving activities, and helping implement process improvements. Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to meet production schedules and quality targets. Perform basic equipment checks and assist with routine equipment maintenance as needed. Carry out other production-related duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing operations. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate production and printing equipment safely and effectively. Ability to read and follow written work instructions and interpret basic technical drawings and blueprints. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel. Strong attention to detail and a high level of quality awareness during setup, operation, and inspection. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform bending, twisting, and reaching as required by production activities. Effective teamwork and communication skills to work closely with peers, engineers, and supervisors. Willingness to work overtime or modified shifts as needed to support production demands. Eligibility to work in the United States as a citizen or permanent resident. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience maintaining or performing basic maintenance on production or printing equipment is a plus. Experience in a production or manufacturing role, particularly with screen printing equipment in roll‑to‑roll or sheet-based processes, is beneficial. Familiarity with cleanroom or lab-based manufacturing environments is advantageous. Exposure to blueprint reading, electrical work, wiring, or soldering is helpful for understanding related processes and equipment. Why Work Here? Work takes place in dedicated lab and cleanroom-style areas, with each department operating in its own controlled space. The environment emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and adherence to 5S principles, with modern screen printing equipment and standard inspection tools such as gauges and magnification devices. Team members can expect to stand for much of the shift and perform repetitive tasks while working safely around production machinery. Overtime or modified shifts may be required at times to meet production needs. The overall setting is professional, orderly, and well-suited to precise, quality-focused manufacturing work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naperville, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
