Fort Wayne, IN Schedule:
Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM (4-day workweek) and some
Fridays Pay:
$15.40/hour, increasing to $16.65/hour upon hire Job Summary The Production Worker / Production Floater is responsible for supporting daily production operations by maintaining a clean and organized work environment, preparing machinery and equipment for use, and working on the production line as assigned. This role requires consistent speed, accuracy, and strict adherence to health and safety guidelines. Successful candidates will help maintain production standards while continuously supporting productivity improvement without compromising quality. Duties & Responsibilities Start machines, monitor operations, and record operational data. Inspect completed workpieces for defects and sort defective parts by type. Ensure finished pieces are clean, organized, and properly staged. Maintain clear and effective communication across departments. Organize received packages and materials. Process all order returns daily. Assist other departments and support production bottlenecks as needed. Apply Lean methods to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Perform general maintenance and end of day cleanup. Manage dust control and operate forklifts as required. Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Required Skills & Abilities Team?oriented with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. Strong active listening and communication skills. Critical thinking and problem solving ability. Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities. Basic operation and control of equipment. High attention to detail. Reading comprehension skills. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Willingness to learn and grow with the company. Works under close supervision with a basic understanding of standard processes and procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to meet physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation. Good hand?eye coordination and dexterity. Frequently grasp, push, pull, and manipulate objects using hands and arms. Frequently bend, stoop, squat, twist, stand, and walk. Frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds; occasionally up to 70 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively, including reading and writing, for safety and business purposes.
