Job Description

  • Job Title:
    General Production Worker
  • Job Description
  • This role focuses on end-to-end manufacturing of magnet wire products on fully automated, continuous production lines.
You will prepare raw materials, monitor automated equipment, and ensure product quality from start to finish. The work is primarily light on the body, with the machines performing most of the physical tasks while you oversee operations, maintain accurate documentation, and move materials safely throughout the facility.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Handle raw materials by staging and preparing them for production according to specifications.
+ Load production lines by feeding raw wire into the equipment as required to maintain continuous operation. + Review and interpret specification sheets to set up machines correctly and make adjustments when needed. + Operate automated production machinery and monitor its performance throughout the shift. + Troubleshoot basic mechanical and operational issues on the line to minimize downtime. + Pull in-process enamel samples and perform quality checks to verify compliance with specifications. + Read and interpret information on HMI touchscreens to monitor line status and ensure consistent product quality. + Document all required in-process updates and production information by hand in an accurate and timely manner. + Use an overhead crane to move finished spools of wire safely and efficiently. + Operate a forklift approximately 15% of the time to transport raw materials and finished products within the facility and to the warehouse. + Support general production tasks such as packaging, inspection, and assembly as needed. + Use hand tools and basic mechanical skills to support machine operation and minor adjustments. + Follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and contribute to a safe, organized production environment. + Work 12-hour shifts on a 2/2/3 schedule and maintain reliable attendance and strong performance throughout the contract and after conversion.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Ability to work safely and independently without constant supervision.
+ Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds repetitively during a 12-hour shift. + Ability and willingness to work 12-hour shifts on a 2/2/3 schedule. + Openness to being trained on forklift operation; prior forklift experience is not required. + Strong tenure and stability in previous employment history. + Ability to read, write, and understand written work orders in English. + Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, construction, general labor, or production environments. + Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machines and automated equipment. + Ability to perform quality inspection and follow established procedures. + Comfort working in a traditional manufacturing environment that can be loud and warm in some areas.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience as a machine operator, production worker, or general production worker.
+ Experience using a tape measure and reading simple measurements. + Experience with assembly or assembly line work. + Experience with packaging, packing, loading, and general material handling. + Prior forklift certification or experience operating a forklift (preferred but not required). + Experience with inspection and quality checks in a manufacturing setting. + Familiarity with hand tools and basic troubleshooting of mechanical issues. + Mechanical inclination and comfort working with continuous, automated production lines. + Experience reading blueprints or basic technical documentation. + Strong soft skills, including reliability, communication, and willingness to learn and be trained.

  • The facility is a very clean, traditional manufacturing environment with automated, continuous production lines that handle most of the physical work.
Some areas of the plant can be loud and hot depending on the department, and employees should be comfortable working in these conditions. The site is expanding, with plans to enlarge the warehouse and install new production lines, reflecting a stable and growing operation. Work is performed on 12-hour shifts using a 2/2/3 schedule, with a first shift from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a third shift from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Employees use overhead cranes, forklifts, HMI touchscreens, and standard hand tools as part of daily operations. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and consistent production, with an expectation of appropriate industrial work attire suitable for a manufacturing setting.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, IN.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $21.11 - $22.36/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
