Press Leader Job Description The Press Leader oversees daily extrusion press operations, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency. This hands-on role leads the press team, supports training, coordinates workflow and capacity, and works closely with the Press Foreman to meet production goals and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate daily activities for the Extrusion Press Team Train employees on press operations, safety, and quality standards Partner with the Press Foreman on staffing, capacity planning, and production flow Ensure PPE compliance and safe work practices Perform all press-related duties, including press operation, die changes, billet oven and saw setup, and quality checks Track production and downtime using press data tools Sequence work orders to maximize efficiency and meet delivery targets Use EPICS to access drawings and production information Verify extrusions meet print, tolerance, and quality requirements Communicate priorities and issues clearly with the team Support continuous improvement efforts Assist with basic press maintenance and troubleshooting alongside maintenance teams Essential Skills Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment (2+ years preferred) Hands-on press operation experience Ability to lift and move heavy tooling with crane assistance Strong safety awareness and PPE compliance Experience performing dimensional and quality checks Basic production data tracking experience Good communication and teamwork skills Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn multiple press roles Additional Skills & Qualifications Aluminum extrusion experience preferred Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems Experience using ERP or production systems (EPICS a plus) Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting Maintenance or equipment troubleshooting experience is a plus Continuous improvement mindset and strong team collaboration skills Why Work Here? Employees gain cross-functional experience in a stable, safety-focused environment. Work Environment Heavy industrial aluminum extrusion facility producing pipe, bar, and rod products. The environment is non-climate controlled, physically demanding, and involves working around presses, ovens, saws, overhead cranes, and forklifts. PPE is required, and employees must be comfortable handling heavy tooling with crane support. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Jeffersonville, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $49920.00/yr.
