Job Summary:

This position is responsible for setting up, operating, or tending machines to mix or blend materials, such as chemicals, or color pigments following production plan.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Observes production or monitors equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Fills in for the Compound Machine Operator during their absence, including performing machine start-up /shutdown, quality checks, and become familiar with material changeovers Weighs, measures, and loads ingredients and checks mixture for specified consistency Adds or mixes chemicals or ingredients for processing. Check product quality on extruder. Completed PM as necessary. Maintains a safe and clean work environment, while adhering to the principles of First in First Out (FIFO) and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Excellent Safety and Attendance Record Know and be able to follow OSHA safety standards related to job Basic reading, writing and numerical ability Ability to communicate with proper personnel when changes or problems occur Flexible to work overtime as needed Ability to follow directions and perform tasks with minimum supervision Ability to work as a team player •Please note this position follows an alternating schedule of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Production experience preferred Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
