Job Description

American Howa Kentucky, Inc. is a global supplier of automotive interiors and noise vibration parts. American Howa Kentucky, Inc. is seeking a full-time Production Operators to join our production team. Produce quality parts, on time, the first time to meet or exceed our customer requirements, while supporting the policies and procedures of AHK.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow standardized assigned work procedures properly to operate equipment and manufacture product Maintain proper documentation of production paperwork Inspect product to ensure no defects are passed on to the next customer Maintain good housekeeping (5S) in assigned areas Follow all plant safety, environmental & quality policies along with other AHK policies & procedures. Assist and support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required 2 years related experience in manufacturing environment Must be task-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task with accuracy Ability to work flexible hours to meet departmental and team member's needs Ability to work in a team environment Physical requirements: Work activities may include lifting 50 pounds or more frequently, standing or sitting for extended periods. This position is primarily inside an industrial manufacturing facility, but there may be periods required outside. Twisting & turning from side to side. Standing in one spot for hours at a time. Walking back & forth from operating station to station for extended times.
Essential Job Functions:
Press Operator
  • Sunshade & Dash Press operators are required to: Load/ unload material in machines Inspect parts for potential defects Install components by hand Clean and maintain equipment and perform PM's Do minor repairs to dies, such as cleaning and applying mold release Manual dexterity required for operating machinery Table Operator
  • Sunshade & Dash Table operators are required to: Operate table machines Inspect parts for potential defects Install components by hand Clean and maintain equipment Verify table monitoring devices (Poke-yoke) (Red Rabbits) Inspector
  • Sunshade, Dash, Pour, Slice & EVA Inspectors are required to: Achieve and maintain a score of 85% or higher on AHK's Quality Inspection Test Visually inspect finished product for potential defects Load product into shipping containers Properly scan and label product Rework/repair for minor defects Rear Utility Operator
  • Sunshade Rear Utility operators are required to: Load/ unload material into machines using appropriate lift assist devices Visually inspect finished product for potential defects Monitor material levels and call for needed materials Prep for production runs using job orders Operate machines and perform regular machine checks Front Utility Operator
  • Sunshade Front utility operators are required to: Unload scrap material and cardboard from lines and haul product to proper disposal locations. Front utility operators also set up and clean packaging for all sunshade production lines. Use cardboard baler and shedder machines. Practice safety while crossing in and out of forklift traffic areas while wearing a safety vest. Foam Load Operato r
  • Foam load operators are required to: Load foam into roll coater machine and onto transfer tables Work with Resin and Catalyst coated foam while wearing proper safety PPE Continually walking while carrying foam from loader to transfer tables Foam Utility Operator
  • Pour & Slice utility operators are required to: Material handle foam buns and sliced material and ensure FIFO is adhered to in both areas Use foam wrapper equipment to wrap sliced foam for shipment Acquire and maintain an active forklift driver's license Perform forklift safety pre-inspection checks Foam Pour Operator
  • Foam pour operators are required to: Frequently bend, kneel and climb over box wall while building boxes Inspect parts for potential defects Accurately measure box dimensions to ensure proper sized buns are made.
Operate and maintain pour equipment, including disassembly of mix head at end of shift Push/ pull boxes into position during operation Ensure safe handling of buns, especially during first 24 hours to minimize risk. Trained in firefighting techniques and equipment Foam Slice Operator
  • Foam slice operators are required to: Operate both vertical and horizontal slice machines Inspect parts for potential defects Clean and maintain equipment Shred/Bale Operator
  • Shred/Bale operators are required to: Load/ unload material in machines Operate hoist to store material Move large carts of scrap material Clean and maintain equipment Felt Operator
  • Felt operators are required to: Load/ unload material in machines Inspect parts for potential defects Operate equipment controls Felt team members are also required to train in confined space and daily/ weekly felt line PM procedures.
Perform lock-out tag-out as needed during maintenance activity Be trained to confined space entry requirements Trained on firefighting techniques and equipment EVA Operator
  • EVA operators are required to: Load/ unload material in machines Inspect parts for potential defects Operate equipment controls Perform lock-out tag-out as needed during maintenance activity Be trained to confined space entry requirements Trained on firefighting techniques and equipment.

Pay Rate:
