Full-time Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to support quality, safety, and documentation standards in our small-batch food and hemp-derived cannabinoid (HDC) product manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring procedures on the production floor comply with applicable state and federal regulations, including FDA food safety guidelines, HACCP and GMP standards, and state-specific HDC packaging and testing requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, regulatory-minded, and confident working in a small team environment with a diverse range of products such as edibles (gummies, chocolates), tinctures, vape cartridges, and topicals. ⸻Key Responsibilities:
Develop necessary, maintain, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) across all departments involved in food and hemp product production. Monitor production floor activities to identify and report any procedural mistakes, cross-contamination risks, or non-compliance. Collaborate with production leads to increase efficiency and procedural consistency, including revising SOPs where needed. Receive and organize paper-based production batch reports from kitchen, production, packaging, and fulfillment teams. Digitize all paper production reports into clearly structured and searchable formats (Google Sheets, PDF logs, or QA software). Communicate critical quality or compliance issues to leadership in a timely and solution-oriented manner. Act as a liaison between production floor leads and upper management to improve communication, reporting, and compliance culture. Assist with traceability documentation, lot tracking, and batch retention practices in line with food and hemp regulatory requirements. Support product recall planning, internal audits, and regulatory inspections (e.g., FDA, state departments of agriculture or health, etc.). Help prepare for and support lab submissions for COAs, ensuring proper sampling, labeling, and documentation. ⸻Qualifications & Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in food science, biology, chemistry, compliance, or a related field preferred. Experience in food manufacturing, dietary supplement production, or hemp/CBD product manufacturing. Familiarity with FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), HACCP, and state-level HDC regulations (e.g., COA, THC limits).Technical & Administrative Skills:
Ability to review and digitize batch and QA records with high accuracy. Skilled in Google Workspace (especially Sheets), and document management tools. Understanding of food safety protocols, GMP, and product labeling requirements. Strong communication skills for working with production leads, compliance teams, and third-party labs or regulators. Comfort operating in a hands-on, fast-moving small production environment. ⸻Preferred Qualifications:
Previous work experience in a hemp/CBD lab or commercial kitchen setting. Training in HACCP, GMP, Preventive Controls for Human Food (PCQI), or ISO standards. Familiarity with states' child-resistant packaging and hemp labeling rules. ⸻Product Categories Supported:

Must be able to navigate between laboratory environments, production floor, and office settings. Position requires standing and walking for extended periods, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Must wear PPE as required and follow sanitation and contamination prevention protocols.Pay:
