Job Summary:
 The Cutter Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining paper cutting equipment to trim printed materials accurately and efficiently according to job specifications. This role ensures finished materials meet quality, safety, and production standards while minimizing waste. 
Duties/Responsibilities:
 Set up and operate bindery cutting equipment (e.g., guillotine cutters, programmable paper cutters) according to job tickets and specificationsRead and interpret work orders, including trim sizes, paper stock, quantities, and grain directionProgram cutter settings or manually adjust back gauge, blade depth, and clamps as requiredMeasure and verify cut accuracy using rulers, gauges, or calipersPerform quality checks throughout production to ensure finished product meets specificationsMonitor cutter performance and make adjustments to maintain efficiency and precisionPerform routine maintenance, blade changes, cleaning, and lubrication following safety proceduresFollow all safety requirements, including proper use of guards, two-hand controls, and lockout/tagoutTroubleshoot basic mechanical issues and report concerns to maintenance or supervisionMaintain accurate production records and documentationKeep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standardsCoordinate with press, bindery, and quality teams to meet production schedulesPerforms other related duties andparticipatesin special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
 High school diploma or GED preferredPrevious bindery or printing experience preferredExperience operating paper cutting equipment strongly preferredAbility to read job tickets and use precision measuring tools (ruler, calipers, gauges)Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitudeAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentTeamwork and communicationSafety awareness and compliance
