General Production Job Description This role involves working as a molding operator and assembly line worker to produce plastic automotive parts. You will assemble, inspect, sort, package, and stock components while maintaining quality and productivity in a clean, team-oriented production environment. Responsibilities Operate molding and general production machinery safely and efficiently to produce plastic automotive parts. Assemble plastic automotive components according to established work instructions and quality standards. Inspect parts visually and with basic tools to identify defects, ensuring all products meet quality requirements. Sort parts based on quality and type, separating acceptable items from defective or nonconforming products. Package finished parts accurately using appropriate packaging materials and methods to prevent damage. Stock and stage parts and materials in designated areas to support continuous production flow. Use basic hand tools and equipment as needed during assembly, inspection, and packaging tasks. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of required footwear and adherence to plant safety rules. Maintain a clean and organized work area within small work cells to support efficiency and safety. Collaborate with team members in small work cells to meet production targets and shift goals. Follow supervisor instructions and production schedules to complete assigned tasks within shift timelines. Adapt to working up to six days per week and up to 48 total hours during periods of higher production demand. Essential Skills Experience in production or general labor in a manufacturing or similar environment. Hands-on experience with assembly work, preferably with plastic or automotive parts. Ability to perform detailed inspection of parts to identify defects and quality issues. Experience with sorting, packaging, and stocking materials or finished goods. Comfort operating general production or machine operation equipment following safety guidelines. Ability to work with basic hand tools safely and effectively. Capability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Physical ability to stand for most of the shift and work in a warm environment, especially during summer months. Reliability in adhering to assigned shift schedules and attendance expectations. Ability to work cooperatively in small teams and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morehead, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
