Production Associate Job Description The General Production Worker - Paint Finishing inspects painted parts as they exit the paint booth and uses hand grinders or similar tools to remove surface defects. This position ensures that painted components meet quality standards for appearance and finish before they move to the next stage of production. Responsibilities Inspect painted parts for defects such as runs, sags, burrs, rough edges, fisheyes, or other surface imperfections as they exit the paint booth. Use hand grinders, sanders, or other hand-held tools to grind, smooth, or remove defects from painted surfaces while maintaining the quality of the finish. Perform precise touch-up grinding while maintaining the dimensional integrity of parts. Follow detailed work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures at all times. Handle and position parts carefully to prevent damage during inspection and finishing. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of dust, debris, and other waste materials. Perform basic checks on tools and equipment and promptly report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor. Meet established production and quality goals while working efficiently and safely. Communicate quality concerns, recurring defects, or process issues to paint booth or production staff to support continuous improvement. Assist with other production, assembly, packaging, or finishing tasks as assigned to support overall workflow. Essential Skills Experience working in a production, general labor, or general manufacturing environment. Ability to use hand grinders, sanders, and other hand-held tools safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail when inspecting painted parts for defects and surface imperfections. Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures consistently. Capability to handle, position, and move parts without causing damage. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area in a production setting. Capacity to meet production and quality targets while working at a steady pace. Effective communication skills to report quality concerns and equipment issues to supervisors and production staff. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Nicholasville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.59 - $19.59/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
