Job Description

The Team Lead is responsible for supervising production within the 2nd Shift Sewing Department by scheduling and distributing work, monitoring the quality of work being produced, and assisting in the manufacturing process where needed. This person is directly responsible for the quality of products being constructed in their designated area, and is expected to be readily available to assist employees throughout the department. This is a 2nd shift position and working hours are 3:15pm-11:45pm (M-F) with some overtime on an occasional basis. Main Duties amp;
Responsibilities:
Daily meetings with Operations Manager to discuss production needs and assist in coordinating the optimal flow of work based on current demands and priorities. Distribute work within the department based on current production needs. Monitor the quality of work being produced and take appropriate actions on any inconsistencies in the production process, consulting with the manager as needed. In partnership with the Operations Manager, ensure that the department is producing in line with production goals with a persistent strive toward motivating and positively influencing team members. Assist with all department needs including monitoring techniques of the sewing team members to ensure consistency with best practices. Provide constructive feedback to the team where appropriate and work with leadership to aid in developing overall skills of each individual contributor. Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and projects. Drive team cohesiveness and alignment by providing coaching and feedback. Confirm that policies and procedures are being followed, and advise the Operations Manager on any observed gaps.Qualification Requirements:
2-5 years experience in a manufacturing leadership role. Highly developed interpersonal communication skills and a motivation to thrive in a team based culture. Ability to adapt to constantly changing work processes and environments. Ability to work overtime. Including working on Saturdays, when required. Basic experience with sewing machines is a plus. Manufacturing experience in working with routings, bill of materials, data collection systems, and ERP systems. Must be able to differentiate between various shades, fabrics, fabric prints and colors. Basic to medium level computer proficiency. Ability to motivate employees.
