Sheet Metal Lead Operator

Operations Manager Well-established small business on North Shore specializing in precision sheet metal manufacturing, seeking a highly motivated and experienced sheet metal operator to step into a key leadership role. This is a unique opportunity for the right individual to establish an equity position and contribute to the long-term growth of the business. Position Summary Oversee daily shop operations and support business development efforts. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically skilled in sheet metal fabrication, and eager to assume a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of a precision sheet metal fabrication shop • Lead and support a team of 5 machine operators including managing daily labor and productivity objectives and timelines Perform and/or oversee job setup for press brakes, programming of automated punch turrets, IPG lasers, and related sheet metal fabrication equipment Manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery Maintain and uphold quality standards across all operations Handle customer relationships, including communication and support Prepare and manage job quotes and estimates Oversee purchasing and supplier relationships Identify and pursue new business opportunities Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and profitability

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Proven experience in precision sheet metal manufacturing Strong technical expertise Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, quoting, and production planning Excellent communication and customer service skills Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to eventually assume an equity role in the business

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift & carry up to 50 pounds Prolonged periods of standing and operating equipment
