General Production Worker Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Racker to join our 2nd-shift Finishing team. If you excel in a fast-paced, technical environment and take pride in ensuring every part is properly prepared for downstream finishing operations, this role is perfect for you. You will be responsible for wiring and fixturing delicate parts onto racks to support cleaning, plating, and surface coating processes, all while maintaining a safe and efficient workspace. Responsibilities Wire or fixture parts onto designated racks per general instructions using copper wire or pre-existing rack fixtures. Read and apply special instructions as required, ensuring correct part orientation and fixturing. Perform frequent counting of products to maintain accuracy and meet daily rack quotas. Inspect incoming parts and report any defects or questionable conditions immediately to the Department Lead. Keep work area and equipment clean, organized, and compliant with all safety regulations, including proper disposal of wire scraps and maintaining clear walkways. Execute prescribed preventive maintenance on racking equipment, such as checking wire cutters, lubricating pins, and inspecting rack fixtures as scheduled. Complete tasks as directed by the manufacturing schedule with minimal supervision, consistently meeting production targets. Collaborate with peers and leadership to support overall production demands and address issues promptly. At least 1 year of related racking, assembly, or finishing experience preferred. Ability to read work orders and written instructions; legible penmanship for labeling and counts. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, counting by twos or tens). Mechanical inclination to troubleshoot simple fixture or wire-break issues. Strong attention to detail and thoroughness, ensuring each part is properly secured before moving downstream. Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask during peak production cycles. Effective written and verbal communication skills, able to report defects, ask clarifying questions, and document maintenance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.90 - $18.90/hr.
