As we enter a new phase of expansion, we are seeking skilled machine operators for close-tolerance CNC grinding equipment to produce small quantity, special order round cutting tools in a clean, climate-controlled environment. The Manufacturing Associate / Machine Operator is responsible for performing laser marking of carbide cutting tools and operating CNC machines for the precision grinding of tools and making or modifying cutting tools from blueprints or written instructions. They may work in one or more designated areas of the manufacturing process until advancing to a more specialized area of production.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Set up and operate all departmental grinding equipment to recondition standard tooling and/or make or modify special tools. Set up and operate grinding machines to grind standard and special carbide tools. Inspect and measure work pieces to ensure that surfaces and dimensions meet specifications. Perform basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts. Dress grinding wheels, according to specifications. Monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are necessary; stop machines when problems occur. Program CNC Grinders utilizing set program parameters. Inspect equipment, structures, and/or materials to identify the cause of errors, problems or defects. Keep workspace clean and organized. Adhere to all safety practices and procedures. Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of manufacturing or CNC machine experience preferred. Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with machinery and measuring tools. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow detailed instructions, both written & verbal. Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain complex processes. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer skills with knowledge of MS Office Suite Knowledge of SAP software helpful
Job Schedule:
Full-time; 40 hours per week with overtime as needed 1st shift: 6AM
- 2:30PM, Monday to Thursday; 6AM
- 1:30PM Friday 2nd shift: 1:30PM
- 10PM Monday to Thursday; 1:30PM
- 9
PM Friday Pay:
$23.50
