Job Title:
Ingots Processor (Weekend) / Powder Processor Technician Job Description This role supports the manufacturing of high-quality ceramic components used in cell phones and other electronic devices. You will accurately measure and load ceramic powders and water into mixers, operate powder processing equipment, and help produce custom ceramic powders and ingots. The position is hands-on, physically active, and involves working in an industrial manufacturing environment with both wet and dry processing conditions across multiple shifts, including weekends. Responsibilities Measure and load ceramic powder and water into mixers, ensuring accurate proportions according to written batch instructions. Aid in the manufacturing of ceramic pieces and components used in electronic products. Produce custom ceramic powders by loading dry raw material powders into blending tanks and milling vessels to create homogeneous mixtures and reduce particle size. Operate drying ovens and load dry mixtures into ceramic saggers for thermal processing. Perform spray drying of ceramic slurry mixtures as part of the powder processing workflow. Maintain accurate and up-to-date batch records, both electronically and in writing, for all production runs. Perform in-process tests and checks to verify product quality and consistency during production. Read, understand, and follow written process instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols at all times. Clean and maintain all processing and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and contamination-free operation. Work cleanly and carefully when handling powder and water to minimize spills, dust, and cross-contamination. Follow general production, packaging, and assembly procedures as needed, including loading, packing, picking, and general labor tasks. Consistently lift and move materials weighing up to 50-60 pounds throughout the shift. Work effectively on different shifts as assigned, including training on first shift for 2-3 months when required. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to regularly lift 50-60 pounds throughout the workday. Ability to work in wet processing conditions and in a dusty manufacturing environment. Ability to read and follow written instructions to mix batches accurately. Strong basic math skills to measure and calculate material quantities correctly. Ability to maintain accurate electronic and written records. Ability to work cleanly and safely when handling powders, water, and production equipment. Comfort performing general labor, production, packing, assembly, cleaning, loading, and following instructions in a manufacturing setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong computer skills to support electronic recordkeeping and process documentation. Mechanical aptitude to operate, monitor, and help maintain processing equipment. Ability to interpret and apply detailed process instructions and safety guidelines. Experience in general production, packaging, picking, and assembly environments is beneficial. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing facility focused on ceramic powder and ingot production. The work involves operating mixers, blending tanks, milling vessels, drying ovens, and spray drying equipment in both wet and dry processing areas. The environment can be dusty and sometimes wet, and you will frequently handle materials weighing 50-60 pounds. Multiple shifts are available, including 6:00 am-2:30 pm Monday-Friday, 2:00 pm-10:30 pm Monday-Friday, 10:00 pm-6:30 am Sunday-Thursday, and 6:00 am-4:30 pm Thursday-Sunday, with initial training typically conducted on first shift for 2-3 months. The setting is industrial and production-focused, with an expectation of practical, comfortable attire suitable for a hands-on manufacturing role. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Adamstown, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
