Job Description
We're Hiring! Cookie Production & Shop Associate at Portland Bakery The Messy Cookie is looking for a positive, dependable person who enjoys both working independently and connecting with people to join our team as a Cookie Production & Shop Associate. This role is approximately 80% cookie production and baking support, and 20% customer interaction. Most of your time will be spent independently baking, scooping dough, packaging cookies, labeling products, and helping keep our bakery running smoothly behind the scenes. The rest of your time will be spent welcoming customers, running the register, answering questions, and helping create a cheerful, welcoming experience in our shop. We believe every customer who walks through our doors should leave a little happier than when they arrived. Whether that's discovering a new favorite cookie flavor, sharing a laugh, or leaving with a bakery-themed temporary tattoo, creating joyful experiences is part of what we do. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of that mission. Pay $16.75-$20.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips during customer-facing/register shifts. Hours Part-time, approximately 12-15 hours per week. The position will begin with approximately 4 hours per week during training and transition into a regular 12-15 hour schedule by August. Schedule This position will typically consist of two 6-hour shifts and one shorter 3-hour shift each week. Team members may choose their regular shifts from our Wednesday-Sunday operating schedule, including at least one weekend shift. We aim to create a consistent weekly schedule that works well for both the employee and the business, while allowing occasional flexibility when needed.
