Job Description

Position Overview The Sheetmetal Helper assists with the fabrication and installation of HVAC ductwork. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and safely. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Assist with Sheetmetal Fabrication Help in the cutting, shaping, and bending of duct pieces to meet project specifications. Operate hand and power tools under supervision to complete assigned tasks. Support Installation and Assembly Assist in the installation of ductwork and HVAC components at job sites. Carry and position materials for installation, ensuring accurate alignment and secure fastening. Maintain Clean and Organized Work Area Ensure that the work environment remains clean, safe, and organized at all times. Properly store tools, equipment, and unused materials after each job. Follow Safety Guidelines Adhere strictly to safety protocols, wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) at all times. Identify and report any unsafe conditions or hazards to supervisors immediately. Loading and Unloading Materials Assist with the loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment from trucks or storage areas. Secure materials during transportation to job sites to prevent damage. Communicate Effectively Collaborate with team members and report progress or issues to supervisors regularly. Follow instructions and ask questions when necessary to ensure job tasks are completed correctly. Equipment Maintenance Assist with the maintenance and minor repairs of tools and equipment, reporting major issues to the supervisor. Other Duties as Assigned Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as required by supervisors or management to support job site operations. Qualifications and Skills Required Basic understanding of hand tools and power tools. Ability to read and follow instructions. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Physical ability to lift heavy materials up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions. Reliable transportation to job sites and a strong work ethic. Expectations and Conduct Arrive on time and prepared for each workday. Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. Commit to maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.

$20.00 - $21.00 per hour
