Job Description

Our client is looking for a Material Area Supervisor in Detroit, MI! This contract opportunity (possible direct hire conversion for the right candidate), starting pay rate is in the $38 to $41 an hour range. Location is Detroit Assembly Complex•
Mack Shifts:
Must be open to 1st and 2nd shift, with potential rotation based on plant needs • 1st
Shift:
5:00 AM•2:00 PM • 2nd
Shift:
2:30 PM•11:30
PM Structure:
The Material Area Supervisor will work under the Shift Supervisor and be responsible for around 45 union employees. (3 Team Leaders with 12 to 14 Operators per team) Position Summary The Material Area Supervisor is responsible for leading hourly material handling teams to support production operations in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role ensures safe, efficient, and accurate material flow throughout the plant and supports continuous improvement through World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles. Key Responsibilities Lead teams to achieve targets in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale. Oversee material receiving, storage, line delivery, and inventory accuracy. Ensure timely and efficient material flow to support production needs. Utilize and support World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools; training provided. Coordinate daily work assignments and resolve operational issues. Maintain positive working relationships with management and union represented employees. Partner with Shift Managers and participate in on site interviews for new hires. Support continuous improvement initiatives and adherence to plant standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (needed for advancement within Stellantis).
Strong computer proficiency:
Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint. Proven ability to lead, communicate, and coach teams in a high volume environment. Ability to work 1st and 2nd shift; must be flexible to rotate if required. Preferred (Not Required) Experience in a unionized work environment. Exposure to lean manufacturing or WCM methodologies. Apply Today! #zr #IND1
