General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker operates along a wash line to load and unload large parts onto a roller conveyor, using lift-assist equipment for heavier items. This role focuses on repetitive, hands-on tasks that support the start and end of an automated cleaning process, ensuring parts are properly prepared, handled, and packed for shipment. Responsibilities Load parts onto a roller conveyor at the start of the wash line, following established procedures and safety guidelines. Use a lift-assist device to safely place heavy parts onto the conveyor and remove them at the end of the process. Push the roller conveyor after loading approximately five parts to move them into the automated wash system. Unload cleaned parts from the conveyor at the end of the U-shaped wash line using the lift assist as needed. Place finished parts into boxes in an organized manner to prepare them for shipment. Support the team on the line by assisting with tasks such as preparing and organizing shipping labels. Perform repetitive production tasks consistently and accurately throughout the shift. Maintain a steady work pace to meet production goals while following safety and quality standards. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production operations. Essential Skills Ability to perform general labor and general production tasks in a manufacturing environment. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly throughout the shift. Comfort with repetitive work and standing or moving for extended periods. Recent experience working in a manufacturing facility. Stable work history with good tenure, typically 8 months to 1 year or more in prior roles. Consistent and reliable attendance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working on a production line or in general labor roles. Familiarity with using basic material-handling or lift-assist equipment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures. Team-oriented mindset with willingness to assist coworkers on the line. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based on a production line with three team members: one loader, one unloader, and a third person who assists with tasks such as preparing shipping labels. The wash line is arranged in a U shape, with loading at the start and unloading at the end. The building has dim lighting and is not overly loud, and the machines are newer, although they handle large parts. The role is on 1st shift, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for approximately 50 hours per week. The work involves repetitive, physical tasks and regular use of a lift-assist device for heavier parts. Dress code includes oil-resistant shoes or steel-toe footwear, no cutoffs, hats worn only forward, and no hoods or loose clothing to support safety on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fraser, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
