PT Tech prides itself on producing high quality parts with short lead times that exceed our customers' expectations. We foster a culture of personal growth and maintain an open door policy at all levels of our organization. We have an opening for a Sheet Metal Model Maker at our location in Fraser, Michigan. The hours are 6am - 2:30pm when working an 8 hour day or 5am to 2:30 - 3:30pm when overtime is needed. Weekend work may be required when a job permits it. Starting pay for entry level is $18.00. An experienced person in this position can see an hourly rate up to $30.00. SUMMARY This position is responsible for producing quality manufactured parts according to instructions provided, in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Spot welds for sheet metal assemblies (steel and aluminum). 2. Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools. 3. Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met. 4. Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers. 5. Hammer, chip, and grind workpieces to cut, bend, and straighten metal. 6. Brake press/machining, Bridgeport operation. 7. Part qualifying. REQUIRED SKILLS 1.
Must be experienced in Blueprint reading, interpretation, and GD&T 2. Ability to perform calculations and conduct moderate analysis 3. Familiar with robotic MIG/MAG welding (fixtures, clamping, programming, cut & etch, etc.) 4. Knowledge and experience in the use of quality equipment and fabrication equipment; including but not limited to Lathes, Mills (Both Manual & CNC), Surface Grinders, Gages, Torque Cells, Etc. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE A
high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 3 years of fixture or machining experience in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace or process fixture field preferred. Experience using hand tools is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS 1.
Work requires walking, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, grasping, crouching, pushing, balancing, reaching, kneeling, and standing. 2. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis. Benefits:
