JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees all training activities related to onboarding and career development for Lakewood employees, with a primary focus on facilitating essential new employee training within the manufacturing plant. Coordinate orientation of new hourly employees to the plant policies, procedures, regulations, safety rules, and fringe benefits. Coordinate "Train the trainer" program to support manufacturing needs. Verify and certify operators on equipment, gauging, and work instructions; maintain accurate training records and complete additional assignments as needed before the end of the probation period. Coordinate training for operators involved in new production processes. Maintain quality control standards to meet Adient requirements, demonstrating a broad understanding of company processes. Work effectively in an assembly line setting and utilize hand tools (e.g., wrenches) and small power tools as required. Track training records, evaluate new hires based on performance, and escalate concerns to management if expectations are not met. Enhance training tracking systems to improve employee tracking. Maintains open communication with all team members and departments to ensure rapid solutions to employee/employer relations questions or issues. Engages in face-to-face communication with employees to keep a pulse on employee engagement. Ability to communicate professionally to all levels, management, and support staff. Develop training materials and evaluation processes to support employee development. Participates in the Health, Safety, and Environmental program by following all policies, procedures, and work instructions that may include safety rules, safety observation audits, regulatory compliance, environmental awareness and audits, and continuous improvement. Complies with all BOS, ISO/TS, and Customer Specific requirements. Reference the AMS BOS Responsibilities Matrix for all requirements related to this job title. Maintain a clean and safe work area by performing necessary housekeeping tasks. Complete all required and applicable training mandated by Adient and its customers. Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Development or a related field is a plus. Strong knowledge of assembly operations and proficiency in all related manufacturing processes. Proficient in computer applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with hand tools and pneumatic tools. Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. Effective communication and presentation skills. Ability to follow job instructions accurately. Teamwork skills and ability to collaborate in a group environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Flexibility to work with various shift schedule as needed.
