Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Production Power Coat Specialist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality protective and decorative coatings to a variety of metal and industrial components. Your expertise will ensure that products meet stringent quality standards while maintaining efficient production workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes, utilizing your skills in industrial painting, fabrication, and materials handling to deliver exceptional results. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, and masking using hand tools and power tools, ensuring optimal adhesion and finish quality. Operate airless paint spraying equipment, auto painting tools, and other industrial painting machinery to apply coatings evenly and efficiently. Use precision measuring instruments to verify coating thicknesses and ensure compliance with specifications. Manage materials handling tasks with forklifts, cranes, and other lifting equipment to transport raw materials and finished products safely within the production area. Perform fabrication and assembly tasks as needed, utilizing welding, machining, and auto body repair techniques to support production requirements. Maintain a clean, organized work environment by adhering to lean manufacturing principles and safety standards. Conduct quality inspections throughout the coating process to identify defects or inconsistencies, making adjustments as necessary for optimal results. Requirements Proven experience with manufacturing processes, including industrial painting, auto painting, construction painting, or related fields. Mechanical knowledge of power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments. Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, airless paint sprayers, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently. Familiarity with materials handling techniques within warehouse or manufacturing settings. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to coating thicknesses, and process adjustments. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste and improving workflow efficiency. Prior experience with auto body repair or fabrication is a plus. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding, machining, painting operations, and equipment use.
