Livonia, Michigan, United States Talascend is currently seeking an Industrial Sewing Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan. Overview The industrial sewing technician will operate and maintain industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality sewn products, ensuring adherence to company standards and project specifications. The role involves collaborating with team members and performing independent project tasks. Responsibilities Operate and maintain sewing machines and related parts, including pattern plates, needles, presser feet, automatic cutting tools, and blades.
Read and interpret work orders and adjust machines and materials accordingly, including selecting fabric, thread, and needles, and mounting necessary attachments.
Inspect and repair finished products as needed and make machine adjustments to address errors or quality issues.
Record materials used, maintenance performed, and number of pieces completed during each shift, maintaining accuracy within target ranges.
Attach elastic, cord, zippers, hooks, buttons, and other trimmings to sewn pieces following work order instructions and diagrams.
Troubleshoot basic machinery problems and request service or repairs as necessary. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 4 years of industrial sewing experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing.
