Job Summary Magnum Coffee Roastery is seeking a dedicated and experienced 3rd Shift Roaster to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience and a strong mechanical aptitude. This role is crucial for ensuring the consistent quality and volume of our roasted coffee. The 3rd Shift Roaster will be responsible for operating roasting equipment, monitoring the roasting process, and preparing roasted coffee for packaging, all while adhering to our high standards for quality and safety.

Responsibilities Roasting & Production:

Operate commercial coffee roasting equipment to roast green coffee beans according to established profiles and quality standards. Monitor the roasting process to ensure consistent color, aroma, and flavor profiles. Load and unload green coffee beans from the production floor to the roasting machines. Manage roasted coffee inventory and prepare finished products for the packaging team.

Equipment & Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of roasting equipment and surrounding work areas. Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report any major malfunctions to the maintenance team. Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the roasting department.

Quality & Safety:

Conduct visual and sensory quality checks on green and roasted coffee beans. Follow all company safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper lifting techniques.

Documentation & Communication:

Accurately record roasting data, production logs, and quality control information. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, challenges, and equipment needs. Assist with other production-related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in a manufacturing or production environment is required. Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with operating machinery. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during a 3rd shift schedule. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting up to 100 lbs. Reliability and punctuality are essential for a 3rd shift position. Prior experience in coffee roasting is a significant plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong manufacturing background. We are not a climate controlled facility; the production area can get quite warm based off the outside temperatures. Ability to work in both hot and cool climates is essential. Shift Information This is a 3rd Shift position. Standard work hours are 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday night to Friday morning. Some flexibility to work longer shifts may be required based on production needs. Must be able to train on 1st shift for at least 3 weeks before moving to 3rd shift.
