Roll Form Line Lead Plainwell, MI From $22 an hour - Full-time From $22 an hour - Full-time About the role: The Rollform Line Operator Lead (1st Shift) is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the roll forming production line. This role ensures safe and efficient machine operation, production quality, and team performance. The Lead provides guidance to operators, supports equipment troubleshooting, maintains production schedules, and acts as the key point of contact between production staff and management.
Summary of tasks and responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and oversee roll forming machines, presses, and related equipment. Coordinate daily workflow and assign tasks to operate to meet production goals. Ensure all products meet Profielnorm's quality standards, tolerances, and specifications. Monitor production rates, adjust processes, and minimize downtime. Train, mentor, and support rollform line operators and new hires. Promote a culture of teamwork, responsibility, and continuous improvement. Communicate priorities, safety expectations, and shift handovers clearly. Provide performance feedback to operators and escalate issues as required. Enforce company safety policies and
OSHA/MIOSHA
compliance at all times. Conduct daily safety checks and lead toolbox talks for the team. Identify hazards and coordinate corrective actions promptly. Conduct and oversee routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance. Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance technicians. Maintain accurate production, downtime, and quality control records.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate/training preferred. 3-5 years of experience in roll forming, steel processing, or related manufacturing. Prior lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring equipment (Excel, ERP systems). Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Working Conditions 1st shift position, Monday-Friday with occasional overtime as needed. Requires standing, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs. for extended periods. Exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery (PPE provided and required).

From $22.00 per hour
