Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
:
Machining:
This job function may consist of operating cross machining, calling up programs, making minor adjustments, drilling, tapping, milling, or stamping operations on a variety of part sizes and families. Assist in the development and maintenance of a method for job rotation that will enhance and retain individual skill levels required to maximize team productivity. Excellent visual inspection combined with statistical process control (SPC) must be effectively utilized to maintain and improve quality. Will utilize 10in6 to maintain production standards and record down-time to support continuous improvement.
Assembly/Bender:
This job function may consist of operating assembly processing on the MGR or "Back-Line", or Bend press; including HMI controls, calling up programs, making minor adjustments, on a variety of part sizes and families. Will utilize 10in6 to maintain production standards and record down-time to support continuous improvement. You will be responsible for understanding MD04 for packaging requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
: Must be "highly flexible" to work overtime as required to meet customer demands. Knowledge of departmental processes and products - preferred Must Cross-train and Certify in both assembly and machining - progressive pay scale. Certify to a Training Matrix NOT Competency & Qualified. Knowledge, skills and capabilities to run departmental machines to the established certifying criteria. Must be able to maintain & exceed established production standards. Working knowledge of all computer systems Evidence of solid attendance/work history, evidence of attention to detail & quality Minimum 2-year commitment "Powered Industrial Truck Permit - preferred Must successfully complete a "hands-on" assessment (up to 30 days)
EXPERIENCE, SKILL, JOB KNOWLEDGE
: Employee must be capable of reading and understanding part prints and process specifications. Employee must understand, maintain, and meet 10in6 production expectations and utilize down-time reporting to drive improvements. Work in conjunction with area team leader, supervisor, and CIS engineer to maintain/improve standards of production. Assist and train fellow team members when required.
JOB FUNCTIONS
: Some jobs may require some or all of the following: May lift, load and unload parts up to 30 pounds, using proper material handling techniques, approximately 400-500 times per shift, per day. May push/pull material handling carts, using proper job safety material handling instructions. Work may be performed in a standing position for long periods of time. May operate and monitor multiple equipment simultaneously. May be responsible for understanding and/or maintaining proper fluid and media levels in equipment. Ability to read, comprehend work instructions/inspection requirements and document the same at required frequencies. Ability to operate hand gauges per work instructions/blueprints. Possess basic computer skills required to perform routine tasks. Ability to work overtime.

: Must adhere to all established health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to avoid exposure to cuts and bruises to the hands and arms and/or limited exposure to chemical fumes and minor burns. Each employee has the responsibility to minimize any negative impacts on the environment. In addition, employee is responsible for the housekeeping, orderliness and basic organization of the immediate work area.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
: Where possible, need to minimize continuous exposure to coolant splash, metal chips and above normal noise levels. May be exposed to fumes, odors and above normal heat.
