Full Job Description Overview Position Summary:
We are a growing manufacturer of precision gears, splines, housings and gear boxes in the Aerospace Industry. Located in Sterling Heights, Michigan, we are looking for a Production Control Manager. This position will report directly to the Vice President and will coordinate and work closely with manufacturing staff, shipping, purchasing, quality, accounting, engineering, sales and management personnel to ensure on-time delivery by establishing and monitoring schedules to identify and address any issues proactively. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate production activities to ensure everything runs efficiently and smoothly from planning to completion
  • Assist in the development and execution of programs involving complex aerospace components and assemblies
  • Manage inventory levels to avoid any shortages or excesses
  • Plan and monitor material movement in production cycle to ensure continuous operations
  • Generate and maintain accurate production schedule within ERP system
  • Uses a master schedule to establish sequence and lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders
  • Directly manage team of Production Control Specialists
  • Establishes priorities for specific customer orders
  • Revise schedule according to manufacturing work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts material, machines and equipment
  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Generate, control & release work orders to manufacturing in a timely manner to ensure delivery dates will be met
  • Monitor and maintain customer delivery schedules, reporting delivery date risk(s) to management
  • Create and maintain demand report for weekly production meeting
  • Work with internal departments (tooling, engineering, purchasing, sales etc.) to ensure smooth transition of orders
  • Coordinate, monitor and report on program delivery status
  • Monitor program milestones
  • Assist in coordinating program activities with management and manufacturing
  • Support customer satisfaction objectives by processing customer requests in compliance with scheduled timelines
  • Communicate, coordinate and resolve various program-related matters and assure timely responses to meet customer expectations
  • Coordinate and monitor the release of work orders as necessary to meet program deliveries
  • Coordinate, track and follow up on the action items and tasks for programs
  • Participate in and conduct meetings
  • Maintain accurate record management
  • Various ad hoc projects
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain Management preferred
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience within the Aerospace industry required
  • Experience with Global Shop Systems preferred
  • Machine/manufacturing knowledge helpful
  • Must have the ability to exercise independent sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong phone and email etiquette required
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Team player with excellent listening and communication skills
  • Ability to self-manage and self-motivate
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
