POSITION TITLE
Manufacturing TrainerPOSITION OBJECTIVE
Drive improved production efficiency, quality, and output through effective manufacturing training, hands-on coaching, and continuous process improvement while ensuring full compliance with safety, quality, and ISO standards. This role supports standardized work practices, accurate documentation, and effective onboarding, and collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Human Resources to achieve company objectives and maintain consistent, compliant manufacturing operations.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Training and Assistance with Production and Warehouse Personnel Train, guide, and support production personnel to ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with Clearfield-approved assembly instructions and techniques. Instruct and onboard new employees by providing detailed explanations of assembly processes, answering technical questions, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Review electronic work orders, prioritize production tasks, and assign duties to team members to optimize workflow, equipment utilization, and productivity. Monitor production progress and communicate workflow status within the team to meet production schedules. Collaborate and communicate with other departments as needed to support production objectives and resolve issues. Promote and maintain a cooperative, positive, and team-oriented work environment. Ensure compliance with all company procedures, quality guidelines, and safety requirements. Assist Production Personnel and Improve Production Processes Support production personnel in improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, quality, and consistency. Build and/or assist in building First Article assemblies to verify compliance with production procedures and specifications. Participate in and support continuous process improvement initiatives. Assist with the evaluation and analysis of defective products and components to identify root causes and corrective actions. Design, implement, and modify production processes to improve quality, throughput, and cycle time. Assist with and conduct time studies as required to support process optimization and labor standards. Update and maintain work instructions, process charts, and drawings as directed by Engineering. Assist in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Department Training Programs. Support Human Resources with Learning Management System (LMS) training for production personnel. Create and manage production order delays as required to support accurate scheduling and reporting. Enter and maintain labor time entries in Clockify in accordance with company procedures. Conduct safety walkthroughs and orientations for new employees. Support company safety initiatives and promote a culture of workplace safety. Support ISO compliance by following documented procedures and participating in audits and corrective actions. Demonstrate and promote a continuous improvement mindset. Utilize Epicor ERP system knowledge (preferred) to support production activities. Participate in company Kaizen and continuous improvement events Track and Maintenance of Production Equipment Track, maintain, and perform routine maintenance on production equipment, including polishing machines, cutters, strippers, cleavers, chop boxes, and various hand tools. Assist with equipment calibration activities as required to ensure accuracy and compliance with production and quality standards. Maintain troubleshoot and resolve issues with production and test equipment to minimize downtime and support continuous operations. Identify tooling needs and compile purchase requisitions for new or replacement tools and equipment as necessary.Position Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED minimum; Associate's or bachelor's in education, Engineering, or related field preferred 2-5+ years in a manufacturing/production environment is preferred Working knowledge of production, quality standards, safety protocols, and tool/machinery Working knowledge of Modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Epicor preferred Working knowledge, Lean Manufacturing Principles, Green belt preferred Strong instructional and communication skills to develop curriculum, lesson planning, needs assessment, deliver training and conduct evaluations on product and processes. Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Custom Relationship Management (CRM) Forklift Certification is a plus Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis. Ability to stand and walk throughout shift.
