Job Description

Lead Hand Flyer paid holidays, 401(k) United States, Minnesota, Crookston 214 5th Avenue Southwest (Show on map) Jun 04, 2026 •This position is open to internal applicants only. •Flyer, a leader in heavy-duty transit bus manufacturing in North America, is seeking an experienced Lead Hand on a temporary basis to join our team. This key role is responsible for supervising assembly operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met, and supporting team development through effective leadership and communication. The work schedule is Monday - Thursday 3pm-1:30am. With the possibility of manned overtime every other Friday (3pm-11:30pm).
Responsibilities:
Address unsafe work conditions and report injuries promptly. Maintain clear communication with team members regarding safety and quality standards. Monitor compliance with quality requirements and support the reject process. Promote continuous improvement initiatives including 5S and employee involvement programs. Keep VIS boards updated and support equipment monitoring with the cell leader. Organize workflow, manpower allocation, and dispatch activities efficiently. Conduct daily assessments of upstream operations to optimize staffing. Facilitate training and cross-training to ensure team flexibility. Foster team unity through clear communication of objectives. Participate in long-term planning related to manpower, layouts, and production changes. Support disciplinary processes by reporting noncompliance according to company agreements.
Requirements Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in manufacturing or assembly environments. Knowledge of assembly processes and quality control. Strong leadership and team-building skills. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Physical ability to perform duties in an active manufacturing environment. Intermediate computer proficiency. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
