Job Description

Job Title:
General Production Worker -
Molding Pay:
$22 | Contract to Hire Job Description The General Production Worker will support molding operations in an open production area, working as part of a four-person line to produce high-quality structural foam and plastic components. This role focuses on setting up, operating, and assisting with the optimization of molding presses while following written and visual instructions to ensure consistent product quality and safe operation. The position requires strong hand dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to rotate through multiple tasks throughout the shift. Responsibilities Set up and operate molding presses to produce structural foam and plastic components according to established procedures. Work as part of a four-person production line, rotating through all positions during the shift. Spray the molding machine with grease or release agents to keep the mold surfaces non-stick and ready for production. Place aluminum bars (similar in shape to bike handles) into molds accurately and consistently. Control the molding machine to insert rubber into foam molds, monitoring basic machine functions and making minor adjustments as needed. Remove finished parts from molds, inspect them visually for obvious defects, and place them in designated areas. Follow written and visual work instructions to ensure correct setup, operation, and quality standards. Use good hand dexterity to handle parts, tools, and materials safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment used on the production line. Follow all safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment as directed. Communicate with team members and supervisors about any issues with materials, equipment, or product quality. Support general production and assembly tasks as needed to meet daily production goals. Essential Skills At least 6 months of manufacturing experience. Ability to follow written and visual instructions (1 year of experience preferred). Good hand dexterity for handling parts, materials, and tools. Experience in general production, general labor, or machine operating. Ability to perform basic machine operation tasks in a production environment. Capability to work on your feet for the duration of the shift and rotate through multiple positions. Attention to detail to maintain consistent product quality and safe operation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in assembly or molding environments is beneficial. Familiarity with production or warehouse settings. Comfort working with repetitive tasks and maintaining a steady work pace. Willingness to learn new processes and follow standardized procedures. Ability to work cooperatively in a small team of line operators. Why Work Here? You will join a close-knit production team where collaboration and reliability are highly valued, and everyone contributes to the success of the line. The role offers consistent daytime hours during the week, supporting a stable routine and work-life balance. You will gain hands-on experience with molding operations in a structured environment that provides clear instructions and expectations, allowing you to build valuable manufacturing skills and grow your experience in production work. Work Environment This role is based in an open warehouse production area with approximately 15 people working in the department. The molding area has a distinct smell, similar to paint thinner and burning rubber, due to the materials and processes used. Work is performed on a four-person line, with each person rotating between spraying the molding machine with grease, placing aluminum bars into the mold, controlling the machine to insert rubber into the foam mold, and removing finished parts. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The dress code is casual, including a t-shirt, long pants, and closed-toe shoes, with additional protective items available if needed. The environment is active and production-focused, requiring comfort with warehouse conditions and repetitive, hands-on tasks.
