Production Worker Job Description This Production Worker role supports pharmaceutical manufacturing by safely handling, storing, transferring, and packaging chemical materials in a controlled clean-room environment. You will operate specialized equipment to convert bulk product into smaller packaged units, adjust process parameters such as batch size, temperature, and run time, and follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to maintain quality, safety, and compliance. Responsibilities Handle, store, transfer, and transport chemical materials used in pharmaceutical manufacturing while wearing required personal protective equipment, including gown, mask, safety glasses, and hair net. Operate production equipment within a controlled clean-room type environment to convert bulk product into smaller, accurately weighed packaged units. Adjust equipment settings based on batch size, temperature requirements, and run times to meet production specifications and quality standards. Follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to perform all production tasks consistently and safely. Perform routine maintenance on production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. Record operating data, test results, and instrument readings accurately and in a timely manner to support traceability and quality control. Complete and maintain documentation such as shipping and receiving paperwork, plant data sheets, environmental reports, inventory sheets, and inspection reports. Mix, blend, and package chemical products according to specified formulations and process requirements. Weigh materials precisely to ensure correct quantities for mixing, blending, and packaging operations. Work from work orders to plan and complete daily production tasks, including pulling materials and tracking product throughout the process. Use computer systems and shipping or inventory software to print labels, track product, and support production and logistics activities. Perform manual labor, including lifting up to 75 pounds, to move materials and products as needed throughout the production process. Essential Skills 3+ years of experience working in manufacturing within a production environment. At least 1 year of experience in a GMP-type environment, such as food, chemical, or medical production. Minimum of 1 year of experience working from work orders to complete production tasks. Ability and willingness to perform manual labor and lift up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly. Solid computer skills, including typing, sending emails, and using shipping and inventory software to print labels and track product. Experience mixing, blending, packaging, and weighing materials in a production setting. Ability to follow detailed SOPs and work instructions accurately and consistently. Comfort working in a clean-room type environment while wearing full protective gowning and PPE. Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation, data recording, and label generation. Reliability and discipline to work a consistent first-shift schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1+ year of experience in a medical, chemical, or food environment performing mixing and weighing of products or materials. Familiarity with GMP principles and documentation practices in regulated environments. Experience completing environmental, inspection, or plant data reporting. Comfort working with chemical materials in a controlled manufacturing setting. Ability to learn and adjust to different equipment, processes, and batch requirements. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work takes place in a clean, well-lit, and comfortable production area within a controlled clean-room type setting. You will fully gown up, including wearing a gown, mask, safety glasses, and hair net, to run products and handle chemical materials safely. The role follows a first-shift schedule, typically 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a predictable daytime work pattern. You will work with production equipment, weighing and packaging tools, and computer-based shipping and inventory systems in a smaller, focused area of the facility designed to support efficient and safe operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
