Mill Operator

CNC Mill Operator - 2nd shift - Fridley, MN We are seeking a Mill Operator to run CNC milling equipment used to produce precision cylinder heads for recreational aircraft. This role focuses on operating mills (no setups required), handling metal components, performing basic finishing, and documenting production results with accuracy. You'll work hands‑on with machined parts, use measurement tools, and support a high‑quality machining process in a clean, well‑maintained shop. Responsibilities Operate CNC mills to manufacture cylinder heads following established procedures (no setups required) Lift and handle 20-30 lb parts throughout the shift Grind and deburr parts to remove sharp edges and finish flange areas Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances Document completed work and defects in computer systems and on travelers Use hand tools, grinders, and measurement tools to support machining and finishing Follow blueprints and production instructions to ensure quality Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all shop safety procedures Essential Skills CNC mill operating experience in a production or shop environment Ability to lift and handle 20-30 lb parts repeatedly Basic proficiency with micrometers and calipers Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools Ability to document work accurately (computer + paper travelers) High attention to detail and commitment to machining quality Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to read and interpret blueprints Formal CNC schooling or machining training Interest in growing a long‑term career in CNC machining Why Work Here Comprehensive health, medical, and dental benefits 401(k) with 6% match Year‑end bonuses based on team productivity 100% tuition reimbursement after one year — strong pathway for skill advancement Stable, supportive environment with long‑term career potential Work Environment Well‑lit, climate‑controlled machine shop Mix of older and newer CNC milling machines Air‑conditioned in summer, heated in winter Standard machining environment with mills, grinders, and measurement tools Practical, straightforward production setting focused on quality and consistency Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fridley, MN.
