Job Description

Job Title:
Finisher Operator Job Description The Finisher Operator supports the finishing department by performing a variety of production, packaging, and shipping tasks to prepare barcode label products for customers. This role involves operating finishing equipment, performing repetitive tasks with strong attention to detail, and working in a cleanroom environment while meeting established production quotas and quality standards. Responsibilities Perform basic packaging, kitting, boxing, and labeling of products in the finishing department. Operate machines to print barcodes on labels and ensure accurate and consistent output. Prepare rolls of barcode stickers and related products for shipment to customers. Carry out shrink wrapping and other basic production labor tasks as needed. Follow cleanroom procedures, including wearing required hairnet and gown, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Conduct basic quality assurance checks to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards. Maintain strong attention to detail when assembling, labeling, and packaging products. Meet or exceed production quotas for rolls packaged, progressing from training targets to regular performance expectations. Use a computer for basic navigation and tasks related to production, labeling, or shipping. Support shipping duties, including preparing finished goods for dispatch and ensuring correct documentation and labeling. Participate in cross-training within different areas of the finishing department to support flexibility and coverage. Follow safety procedures and use hoists or lifting aids when handling heavier items as needed. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production progress, issues, or quality concerns. Adhere to attendance procedures, including properly reporting absences or schedule changes through the designated attendance line. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in assembly, packaging, or kitting. Experience with labeling and basic production or manufacturing tasks. At least 6 months of computer usage experience, including basic navigation. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production and finishing equipment. Strong attention to detail, particularly in quality assurance and labeling tasks. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and consistency. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs, with hoist assistance available when needed. Reliability and consistency in meeting production quotas and deadlines. Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment and follow gowning and cleanliness protocols. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a printing, finishing, or manufacturing environment is beneficial. Comfort working with shrink wrapping and other packaging equipment. Interest in cross-training and learning multiple roles within the finishing department. Ability to contribute ideas for process improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and team members. Openness to ongoing training, learning, and development opportunities. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a printing and finishing facility that is clean, well-maintained, and designed with employee comfort in mind. The company has recently completed interior construction to add more natural light and an open floor concept. Employees work in a cleanroom environment for portions of their duties and are required to wear a hairnet and gown while in that area. The culture encourages employees to share ideas to support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, with drawings and incentives for suggestions that enhance operations. The standard schedule is 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, with overtime starting as early as 4:00 a.m. when needed. The dress code is casual, including t-shirts or sweaters, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. Employees are provided with company-branded items such as water bottles and t-shirts, and they work in a smaller, close-knit environment where people are well taken care of and encouraged to be part of an engaged, idea-driven team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
